CarLotz is a competitor in the used car marketplace. Founded from the frustration of buying and selling used cars without transparency, CarLotz puts humanity back in the process by using coaches, not salespeople, that sell your car fairly in the consignment marketplace.

Going against the trend of other companies, CarLotz reversed tropes, and instead focused on the people (rather than the cars) with the mantra: ‘It feels good to be a used car person.’ The brand transformed the word ‘used’ into a badge of honor, and implemented common shapes playfully inspired by vehicles as a framing device. The work applied to everything from billboards to couch cushions, creating a uniquely irreverent voice and tone.

CarLotz was recently acquired as of 2025(☹), but the work lives on.
